Printing Guide
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you print and display your art beautifully.
1. Choose the Right Print Shop
Local Print Shops: Ideal for personal service and quicker turnaround times. Look for places that offer high-quality paper and ink options.
Online Print Services: Convenient for a wide variety of printing options and delivery to your door. Popular services include Shutterfly, Printful, and Vistaprint.
2. Select the Paper Type
Matte Paper: Great for a non-reflective finish, providing a smooth and elegant look. Fine Art Paper: High-quality, textured paper that adds a premium feel to your prints. Ideal for artwork with intricate details. Make sure to select thicker 30pts or above.
3. Choose the Right Size
The archive you download will consist of 3 aspect ratio variations of the painting:
- 24×36 “ (61x70cm) 2:3 ratio and 7200x10800px resolution
- 19¾x27½ “ (50x70cm) 5:7 ratio and 5925x8250px resolution
- 16×20 “ (41x51cm) 4:5 ratio and 4800x6000px resolution
Make sure to use a paper with a matching size
4. Check Your Printer Resolution
Digital files are in a JPEG format with 300 DPI (dots per inch) resolution. Make sure printer is setup for 300 DPI and not a common 72 screen DPI for a high quality prints.
5. Print at Home (Optional)
If you have a high-quality printer at home, you can print your artwork yourself. Make sure to use the correct paper type and set your printer to the highest quality settings.
We discourage using photo paper due it’s gloss, a thicker satin paper would do fine on an ink printer.
6. Framing and Display
Frame Selection: Choose a frame that complements your artwork and the decor of your space. Standard frame sizes often match common print sizes.
Matting: Consider adding a mat border to enhance the artwork and provide a professional look.
Placement: Hang your artwork at eye level and consider lighting to highlight its features.
7. Caring for Your Prints
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade colors over time.
Handle with Care: Always handle prints by the edges to avoid smudges or fingerprints.
Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the frame and glass. Avoid using liquids that can seep in and damage the print.
8. Enjoy Your Art!
